The American Psychological Association (APA) has expressed serious concerns about AI chatbots that claim to function as psychologists or mental health professionals. In a letter to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the APA called for an investigation into the alleged deceptive practices of companies such as Character AI.
